Investing in massage is an investment in your health. A variety of services are available to help you feel your best.
Swedish Massage
This type of treatment is often what comes to mind when people think of massage therapy. You lie on a comfortable table with sheets and blankets to keep you warm and covered. Some of the strokes Swedish massage utilizes are compression, kneading, rhythmic tapping, mild stretching and gliding. This massage goes beyond relaxation to ease muscle tension, increase circulation, and aid flexibility.
Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release Massage
Deep Tissue and Myofasical Release Massage incorporates strokes with firmer, often sustained pressure, and is focused on the deeper muscle layers of the body, trigger points, and tendons and fascia (connective tissues). Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release massage can alleviate chronic physical and emotional tension, but it need not be painful, and it can feel relaxing! Open communication is key during a massage. You are invited to give feedback at any point in the treatment when the work feels uncomfortable.
Prenatal Massage
The 40 (ish!) weeks of pregnancy can be a physically and emotionally challenging time for a woman. Your body changes every day, and it's common to feel stiffness, leg cramping, edema (swelling), headaches and increased stress on weight bearing joints. A prenatal massage is a wonderful way to support your physical wellbeing, while relieving some of the depression and anxiety brought on by hormonal changes. Lots of pillows, bolsters and blankets are available for your support and comfort on the table, and all massage products and linens are unscented. If you are experiencing a high-risk pregnancy, please consult your doctor or midwife before proceeding with prenatal massage therapy.
Thai Yoga Massage
Thai Yoga Massage is performed on a mat on the floor. Allow the practitioner to guide you through a series of yoga postures and gentle stretching while palming and thumbing along your body's pressure points and "sen" (energy) lines. This modality relieves muscular tension, increases circulation and balances the body by unblocking and dispersing energy. Clients often leave feeling light on their feet while having gained a deeper awareness of their mobility. Pillows, bolsters and blankets may be used to help prop the body for support in some postures. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement. No experience with yoga is necessary; stiff bodies are welcome!
One Hour Feet Retreat
Your Retreat begins with an epsom salts foot soak while your head, neck, and shoulders receive a massage. Next, you'll relax on a heated reclining massage table for a Thai Reflexology Massage or Myofascial Release Massage dedicated just to your feet and lower legs. Ahh, bliss!
